EgyptAir 737 Business Class Review (BER-CAI)
In late June 2024, I flew EgyptAir Business Class on a Boeing 737 from Berlin to Cairo. This was my first time flying EgyptAir, and I was looking forward to a new airline! The interior looked old from the photos I saw online, but I had a hunch it would be a comfortable ride…

Booking My Flight
I booked my flight via Air Canada by transferring 20,000 Membership Rewards points from my American Express Gold Card. I also had to pay CA $129 in taxes and fees, but it was well worth it as the non-stop flight was $1,250 cash otherwise!
Check-In & Boarding
I arrived at the airport a few hours before my flight to check out the Berlin Lufthansa Business Lounge, which I could access since EgyptAir is part of StarAlliance (I don’t recommend making the trek unless you have plenty of time before your flight; EgyptAir flys out of the opposite side of the airport).
Before I could hang out in the lounge, I wanted to check my bag and get a physical boarding pass.
EgyptAir doesn’t have a prominent check-in area like Lufthansa, which made it to find (they also don’t participate in the airport’s self-check-in kiosks).
But… I finally found it!
I was quickly helped in the Business Class line, and the EgyptAir employees were friendly.
Cabin & Seats
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first saw my seat. The cabin felt dated…
But I soon realized this wasn’t bad after sitting down. The seat was comfortable! It’s probably one of the most comfortable narrow-body seats I’ve sat in.
Each seat had spacious room:
I had more than enough legroom, but fitting my backpack under my seat was tough.
A wired remote control for the in-flight entertainment system sits on the side of the center console.
In-Flight Amenities
I usually write for the site when I fly, but my flight didn’t have Wi-Fi – EgyptAir only offers it on their A220-300, B787-9, and A320 neo aircraft, so I couldn’t connect to the Internet.
Instead, they offered a decent selection of Western and Arabic movies via the seatback entertainment system. I watched Wonka. The screen was small, but it was better than nothing.
Dinner
Shortly after take off, the flight attendants started dinner service, starting with fresh juice. I ordered guava. It was tasty!
Next, the flight attendants stopped by with the dinner menu. I was impressed with the selection. They offered an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert.
I chose chicken for my entree, which was smothered with an orange sauce and served with gratin potatoes and sauteed vegetables.
I do not recommend the chicken. It was dry!
I ordered a cappuccino after my meal, which was a nice treat. Flights in the US don’t offer espresso drinks!
EgyptAir’s flight attendants were friendly and the highlight of the flight. They were attentive and friendly!
Arrival
We arrived at Cairo International Airport shortly after our scheduled arrival time. The plane didn’t park at a gate. Instead, we took a bus from the tarmac to the terminal and proceeded to immigration.
I hired an expeditor service to escort me through passport control and to my hotel. I highly recommend American Star Travel, especially if this is your first time visiting Egypt. They charged me a reasonable $35, and their staff is super professional!
My bags were waiting for me when we arrived at baggage claim. I was also impressed with the delivery speed, but flying business class helped.
Closing Thoughts
I wasn’t sure what to expect on my first EgyptAir flight, but I was pleasantly surprised! Thanks to the comfortable seats and attentive flight attendants, I enjoyed my flight from Berlin to Cairo even though I wasn’t a fan of my main meal and the plane lacked Wi-Fi. My flight was excellent value at 20,000 points for business class!
