Review: Ahlein Premium Lounge in Cairo, Egypt
The Ahlein Premium Lounge at Cairo International Airport is a business-class lounge in Terminal 2. Passengers with Priority Pass and other lounge memberships can also enter. Before my British Airways flight to London, I stopped by the lounge to check it out. I wasn’t sure what to expect!
Location & Hours
The Ahlein Premium Lounge is open 24 hours daily in Terminal 2 at Cairo International Airport. The entrance is to your right, immediately after the security checkpoint.
There are a few other lounges in Terminal 2 at Cairo International Airport, including the Emirates Lounge. All of the lounges share the same hallway.
After what felt like a maze, I saw a sign to continue walking to the Ahlein Premium Lounge.
I finally made it!
Entry Requirements
While Ahlein Premium Lounge is a business-class lounge, it is also open to many other passengers departing from Terminal 2.
Here are all of the ways to access the lounge:
- Passengers flying first and business class on most airlines departing from Terminal 2
- MasterCard cardholders with a Middle East-issued Platinum, Titanium, World, World Elite card
- American Express cardholders with a Middle East-issued card
- Priority Pass, Lounge Club, Lounge Key, Lounge Pass, Diners Club, or Dragon Pass members
All other passengers can pay $35 cash at check-in for access, subject to capacity limitations.
Food & Beverage
The Ahlein Premium Lounge has an impressive buffet with complimentary warm food. I visited in the morning before my early flight to London, and the lounge offered various Middle Eastern and American breakfast choices.
The lounge had a variety of Middle Eastern breakfast choices…
There were also scrambled eggs, waffles, and pastries…
The buffet continued with another line of salads and sandwiches…
Ahlein Premium Lounge also has an impressive selection of Coca-Cola beverages, Schweppes, bottled water, coffee, and tea.
Space & Seating
The Ahlein Premium Lounge is beautiful, and there is plenty of seating. The lounge was quiet when I first arrived but quickly filled up as the morning progressed.
There is a separate kid’s play area towards the right as you enter the lounge…
As I said, the lounge quickly filled up soon after opening. There is a designated quiet area if you proceed down the right walkway of the lounge if you prefer a more relaxed space.
Bathroom & Showers
The bathrooms were shiny and clean, like the rest of the lounge!
Private shower rooms are also available. I didn’t have a chance to check them out, but you can reserve one for $10 at the check-in counter.
Closing Thoughts
The Ahlein Premium Lounge is a solid lounge where you can relax before your flight! There are several ways to access the space free of charge. I wouldn’t spend $35 for access, though… especially if the lounge is busy. However, that is partly because I like to explore new airports and would prefer to see the rest of the terminal. I was impressed with the design of the space, the number of seats, and the variety of food!
Have you visited the Ahlein Premium Lounge? How was your experience?
