Best Admirals Club at DFW Airport [2024]
There is no shortage of lounge options at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (in fact, there are over 15 different lounges at DFW!) Many of these lounges are an Admirals Club, operated by American Airlines. DFW is AA’s mega-hub.
Earlier this month I had a delay, giving me five hours to lounge hop. I decided to focus on ranking the best Admirals Club locations at DFW to use my new Citi AAdvantage Executive card that comes with Admirals Club membership.
Terminal A Admirals Club near Gate A24
The Terminal A Admirals Club (near Gate A24) is my favorite American Airlines lounge in Dallas. It is modern and spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows (but the views are not the best- they face a parking garage). The lounge was moderately busy during my visit, much less so than the Terminal D Admirals Club. This may not be the case during your visit, but I’ve seen others mention the Terminal A lounge is usually less busy than the Terminal D Admirals Club which has a similar vibe.
Amenities
- Complimentary warm food, light snacks, and beverages
- Full-service bar
- Showers
- Kids room
- Wi-Fi
- Two conference rooms
Terminal C Admirals Club near Gate C20
The Terminal C Admirals Club vibe is unlike any other Admirals Club at DFW. While older, the space is large and exudes luxury. It kind of feels like a spa when you enter. It is very serene thanks to the gold tones and relaxed lighting. The food is more or less the same as the other Admirals Clubs at DFW.
Amenities
- Complimentary warm food, light snacks, and beverages
- Full-service bar
- Showers
- Kids room
- Wi-Fi
- Five conference rooms
Terminal D Admirals Club near Gate D24
Quite a few people say the Terminal D Admirals Club is best but, honestly, I didn’t find it to be that remarkable. It did have a modern aesthetic similar to the Admirals Club in Terminal A, but it was packed during my visit — and I hear it usually is –so I didn’t stay for long.
Amenities
- Complimentary warm food, light snacks, and beverages
- Full-service bar
- Showers
- Kids room
- Wi-Fi
Don’t get the Terminal D Admirals Club confused with American’s Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining experience which are next door. These two lounges are exclusive and have different access requirements. You can buy a day pass for the Flagship Lounge for $150 or 15,000 AAdvantage miles per person, or access if you’re flying in Flagship Business or hold qualifying status with AA or oneworld. You need to be flying on American Airlines in Flagship First or Flagship Business Plus to access Flagship First Dining.
Terminal E Admirals Club, Mezzanine Level
The Terminal E Admirals Club is a cozy “L-shaped” lounge on the Mezzanine Level in the middle of Terminal E. You need to go down an escalator to access it, and depending on your arrival gate, it is a trek. This lounge was quiet during our visit, and they had an assortment of snacks and BBQ chicken sliders available.
Amenities
- Complimentary warm food, light snacks, and beverages
- Full-service bar
- Wi-Fi
Terminal B Admirals Club near Gate B3
In all honesty, the Terminal B Admirals Club (near Gate B3) is perfectly fine. While it felt older (and dark), it also felt cozy and offered a cool view of planes parked at nearby gates. The lounge was less busy than the other lounges I visited. This may be because it is around the corner from the main Terminal B walkway.
Amenities
- Complimentary warm food, light snacks, and beverages
- Full-service bar
- Showers
- Wi-Fi
- Two conference rooms
Closing Thoughts
With over 15 different lounges at DFW, the best one to visit may not be immediately clear but it makes the most sense to stop into the Admirals Club if you’re flying American Airlines. AA has an Admirals Club in each of its terminals. While my favorite DFW Admirals Club is in Terminal A, the best lounge for your visit is likely the one closest to your gate, unless you have an extended layover like I had. Some of AA’s lounges are larger or more modern than others but they are more or less similar when it comes to the food and beverage offerings.
Did you make to the AC in Terminal E? It’s in the commuter terminal down the underground tunnel. Very small, similar to the AC in PHL in F Terminal. Or the AC at Tampa.
I agree on the A club. It’s my favorite as the easiest to clear security, enjoy the club, then head over a Skylink if needed.
Thanks for your comment, Matt! I haven’t been to the AC in Tampa, but they look similar to what I see on Google. Also, I’m working on adding a Table of Contents to each post. Hopefully, that will make things easier to navigate! Cheers!
Sorry, I just noticed the E club… must have missed it while scrolling through. MV
