The CRJ 700 and CRJ 900 are two common jets flown by regional airlines like Delta Connection and American Eagle. While they are very similar planes, there are a few differences (like CRJ 900 is larger, for example). Both the CRJ 700 and CRJ 900 are regional aircraft manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace (formerly Canadair).
The CRJ700, introduced in 2001, is an extended version of the small CRJ200, featuring a larger cabin and increased seating capacity. The CRJ900, launched in 2000, is a further stretched variant, offering more seating. Both aircraft are part of Bombardier’s CRJ Series, designed to cater to regional routes with efficiency and comfort. Over the years, these aircraft have been popular with airlines worldwide, offering reliable performance and economical operation.
CRJ 700 Overview
The CRJ 700 is smaller than the CRJ 900. The CRJ 700 only has a restroom in the back of the plane and a smaller first-class cabin (usually 3 rows compared to 4 on the CRJ 900). Economy seating is in a 2-2 configuration. Most CRJ-700 planes seat up to 65 people, but some variations may have up to 70 seats between the two cabins.
In the United States, American Airlines, Delta, and United offer Wi-Fi on most of their CRJ 700 aircraft. Power outlets are also available.

CRJ 900 Overview
CRJ 900 aircraft are larger than CRJ 700s. The CRJ 900 has a restroom in the front and back of the cabin. CRJ 900’s usually have 4 rows of first-class seating, in a 1-2 configuration. Economy seating is in a 2-2 configuration. Most CRJ-900 planes seat up to 76 people, between the two cabins.
In the United States, American, Delta, and United offer Wi-Fi on most of their CRJ 900 aircraft. Power outlets are also available.

The CRJ700 and CRJ900 are popular jets flown daily by regional airlines. They usually connect smaller cities with larger airports, to support mainline operations.
