Dunkin Rewards Category Changes [2024]
Dunkin’ Donuts is at it again with changes to its rewards program – and regulars are also once again upset with the changes.
Last October, Dunkin’ replaced DD Perks with Dunkin’ Rewards, and touted that the new program offers increased flexibility with the ability to boost status. While the changes unlocked redemptions for anything on Dunkin’s menu, the number of points required for many popular redemptions increased significantly.
Now, as of January 10th, 2024, Dunkin’ is making additional changes for their reward redemptions:
- The ability to “Add espresso shot” no longer offered
- Cold brew now costs 500 points, which is down from 700
- Hot chocolate and chai/matcha lattes now available for 700 points
- Espresso drinks (like lattes) now cost 900 points, which is up from 700
You can still redeem rewards for as few as 150 points (and get a 3-count MUNCHINKS or 6-count hash browns). A classic donut is 250 points. A breakfast sandwich (my personal favorite) costs 800 points.
Users online seem to be most disappointed that the ability to add an espresso shot to a drink has been removed. Others appreciate that a cold brew coffee now only costs 500 points, which is 200 less than it was before.

Closing Thoughts
It is disappointing to see that they removed the ability to add an espresso shot for 150 points and also increased the cost of espresso drinks to 900 points, but it is worth pointing out that cold brew redemptions have been lowered to 500 points (down from 700). I have been going to Dunkin’ more lately (instead of Starbucks). I don’t mind the changes but I’m new to the program. I mainly order a regular coffee and bacon egg and cheese breakfast bagel when I go.
Do you use Dunkin’ Rewards? What do you think of the changes?
Espresso shot was the only worthy reward. I hope they bring it back.
Once a 140 buck a month dd customer for years. With increasing prices and diminishing rewards, i just bought my very first coffee maker for home.
At some point, people wise up.
Goodbye dd.
