Is Amex Nixing The Delta Platinum Companion Certificate?
Over the last 24 hours, the Companion Certificate appears to have been removed as a benefit from the personal Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card.
Both AmericanExpress.com and Delta.com have pages where it no longer lists the valuable perk as as benefit, which makes me think it is more than an innocent glitch.
Here’s a screenshot from American Express:

and another from Delta:

While the Companion Certificate is still listed as a benefit on certain pages and in the cardholder agreement, we can’t help but speculate it is on its way out — perhaps after April 2nd, when the current welcome bonuses expire.
This is a surprising move, if true, since American Express just refreshed their Delta credit cards and increased the annual fees about a year ago.
If that is the case, it appears the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve — with its hefty $650 annual fee — will be the only personal card to include a Companion Certificate.
Will you keep your Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card if the Companion Certificate is removed? Add your thoughts below!
Nope I will not renew!
