Conrad Indianapolis King Room Review [2024]
Conrad Indianapolis is a 23-story luxury Hilton hotel in downtown Indianapolis. The hotel opened in 2006 and was most recently removed in 2015. Conrad Indianapolis has 247 guest rooms and is connected to the downtown Indy skywalk system.
My family frequently stays at Hilton hotels, and we had another expiring free night certificate (thanks to the Amex Hilton Aspire Card), so we decided to make the drive to Indianapolis from Dayton for a fun weekend getaway.
Booking My Stay at Conrad Indianapolis
Thanks to our American Express Hilton Aspire Card, we get a free night at any Hilton property every year (as long as Standard Room reward availability is available). I had to head over to Hilton’s website to figure out if the hotel had reward availability (hint: it did!).
Rooms at Conrad Indianapolis start at 70,000 Points Per Night for a Deluxe Room 1 King Bed (which usually costs around $300 per night). That room type was available for the day we wanted so I called Hilton’s Diamond Line to book the room using my Free Night Certificate.
Our family has two Aspire Cards. We get so much value from them, from Diamond Status to $400 in annual Resort Credits to free nights at hotels like Canopy Hilton in Columbus.
Conrad Indianapolis Location & Parking
Conrad Indianapolis is located in the heart of downtown Indy, close to Monument Circle and Circle Centre Mall. You can’t beat the location! Great restaurants, shops, and entertainment are all a short walk away. Indianapolis International Airport is 14 miles away.
The only downside of the hotel’s location is parking. Conrad Indianapolis only offers valet parking for guests, and it is expensive!
Valet parking starts at $60 per night but can cost as much as $67 per night if you have an oversized vehicle. This includes unlimited in/out privileges.
There are a couple of public parking garages nearby. We parked at the Circle Block Garage on N Illinois Street, across the street from Weber Grill and T.J. Maxx. Parking at the Circle Block Garage costs $24 for up to 24 hours.
Conrad Indianapolis Lobby & Check-In
Given its downtown location, Conrad Indianapolis is quite easy to find. While we skipped their expensive valet service, the Circle Block Garage was right around the corner. We quickly found a parking spot and were in the hotel lobby within a few minutes.
The front desk is located in the lobby on the first floor, straight ahead as you enter the building. The Capital Grille is on the right side and Tastings Wine Bar is on the left.
We stayed the weekend before Valentine’s Day, and the hotel was busy! Our pre-selected room wasn’t available on arrival, nor were upgrades, but we were able to check in early by taking a different room. We stayed in Room 1420 on the 14th floor.
Deluxe King Room at Conrad Indianapolis
This was our first time staying at a Conrad Hotel. Given the great experience at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, we were excited to get up to our room (even without a suite upgrade!).
The hotel is historic, which is felt throughout the property and noticed in the rooms. That’s not a bad thing—the property is elegant, just not modern.
Our room was 420 sq. ft. and felt spacious. It had a small couch, a great workspace with an L-shaped desk, and a large bathroom. We even had solid views of Downtown Indianapolis from the room!
There was a bottle of wine and cheese waiting for us in our room:
The bathroom was perfect! I loved the tile.
I was a big fan of the shower!
Dining at Conrad Indianapolis
Two restaurants, Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro and The Capital Grille, are located on the first floor of Conrad Indianapolis.
While they are connected to the hotel and listed on the hotel’s website, we were informed at the front desk that the daily food and beverage credit for Hilton Honors Gold & Diamond members only applied to room service charges.
This seemed odd, but it wasn’t a huge deal for our stay as we were in town for one night and already had dinner plans at a Latin restaurant called Delicia (where we used our Delta Amex Resy Credits). Delicia was great, BTW – highly recommend!
We ordered room service for breakfast before our departure and quickly used up our $50 food and beverage credit ($25 per person). This ended up being a nice, romantic treat, as we don’t usually order room service. We went with French toast and The Indy, which included juice, two eggs, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing, either. Our total came to $76.50, which included a $5 delivery fee and $11.55 service charge. Yikes!
Here is their room service menu:
Amenities at Conrad Indianapolis
Conrad Indianapolis is an impressive hotel, partly due to its luxurious pool, spa, and fitness center on the 6th floor. This floor adds to the experience, and I highly recommend enjoying the facilities during your stay!
While the hotel offers a full array of spa services, including massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures, what is most impressive is that hotel guests can use the sauna and steam rooms for free.
Conrad Indianapolis has a decent gym with treadmills and a variety of weights and machines.
Closing Thoughts
Conrad Indianapolis is an impressive luxury hotel in Downtown Indy. You can’t beat its location in the heart of downtown in the Monument Circle area. The building’s historic charm is felt throughout the hotel. While the hotel has two on-site restaurants, Hilton elites are unable to take advantage of the included food and beverage credit as it only works for room service (which is disappointing). Parking is also frustrating as valet parking is expensive. The hotel’s health center on the 6th floor makes up for these annoyances with an impressive gym, pool, and spa where guests can use amenities like the sauna and steam room for free.
