Review: Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette is a newer 4-star Hilton Honors property in the La Villette area of Paris, north of the 19th arrondissement. While out of the way from the major sites of Paris, the hotel’s pricepoint piqued my interest… I was able to book it for 50,000 points per night in June 2024, and took advantage of Hilton’s fifth-night free program.
Booking My Stay at Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette
I stay at Hilton Hotels often since I have Diamond status, thanks to my American Express Hilton Aspire Card. That means I also book all of my Hilton stays directly at Hilton.com to take advantage of
I paid 200,000 Hilton Honors points for my five-night stay in June — 50,000 points per night combined with Hilton’s Fifth Night Free promotion. I thought that was a great deal, but I found even cheaper rates while writing this review:
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette Location & Parking
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette is located north of the 19th Arrondissement, across the Canel de Saint-Denis from Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, the largest science museum in Europe. Charles de Gaulle Airport is about 27 kilometers (17 miles) away, and the Eiffel Tower is about 16 kilometers (10 miles) away. It takes about 50 minutes to get to both by the Paris Metro system; the Corentin Cariou metro station is just a block away!
The hotel does not offer parking, so you’ll need to find a spot on your own if you’re bringing a car. I didn’t have to worry about this during my trip, but several options appear close when looking at Google Maps.

Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette King Room
I was assigned room 218 in the back corner of the hotel, which was quiet yet easily accessible!
One of the main reasons I chose this hotel for this trip was that it has desks in the rooms. I had to work during my extended trip to Europe, and the desk and the room were almost perfect!
My only gripe was about the heat and air conditioning. I’m unsure if the system worked, but the weather in Paris was fine, so I wasn’t too bothered, and I didn’t want to be the cliche American who complained about every inconvenience.
I had plenty of space to work, and there was also a mini fridge on the left side of the desk (below the lamp).
The room and bathroom layout was unique but very functional! The shower was perfect and had excellent water pressure.
The sink area did feel tight, however. It was fine for me, but I imagine it may be challenging if two people are trying to get ready in the morning.
I even had a cool view from my room, with a slight view of Canal de Saint-Denis:
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette Dining
Babette is the name of the hotel’s restaurant. It was open for breakfast and dinner while I was there, but it may also be open for lunch at certain times.
The hotel charges $15 per person for the morning breakfast buffet, but it is free for Hilton Gold and Diamond members. The buffet is impressive, and I loved the fresh fruit and thick-cut bacon!
I stopped by Babette for dinner one evening and sat outside. The ambiance was excellent, but the food, drinks, and service were average. 😔
I ordered the Croque Monsieur, which the waiter recommended. It is a sandwich made with truffled ham, comté cheese, and mesclun (lettuce). It was difficult to enjoy, though… the bread was hard!
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette Amenities
This hotel didn’t have many extra amenities, but I appreciated the gym and on-site laundry.
The gym was quiet and had everything I needed for a full-body workout!
I was also thrilled that the hotel offers free laundry machines on the second floor! The hotel even sells individual Tide Pods at the front desk for a nominal fee.
Closing Thoughts
Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette is a solid “home base” if you will be in Paris for a week or more. However, due to its location, it might be challenging if you’re looking to be close to the main attractions like the Eiffel Tower. I loved that the hotel is recently renovated, offers free guest laundry, and is in a local neighborhood with several restaurants and shops nearby. It is one of my favorite Hilton Garden Inn properties. With so many great restaurants in Paris, I wouldn’t spend too much time dining at the hotel, however. Overall, the Hilton Garden Inn Paris La Villette is an excellent mid-tier hotel, and I would stay there again!
