Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center Review + Photos [2024]
Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center is centrally located in Virginia Beach, VA across the street from Pembroke Square on Virginia Beach Blvd. The hotel has a full-service restaurant, indoor pool, and an attached conference center. I stayed at this hotel one weekend in December 2023!
Booking My Stay at Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center
Like most of our hotel stays, I booked my stay directly at Hilton.com to maximize my Hilton Honors Diamond benefits which I have thanks to myΒ American Express Hilton AspireΒ card. There are tons of other Hilton properties in Virginia Beach, but I chose this one due to its location in Town Center. I paid cash for our room this time β about $100 per night (I booked the prepaid AAA rate). You can also snag this hotel for as low as 34,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center Location & Parking
Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center is located on Virginia Beach Boulevard in Town Center (exit 17B when you’re headed towards the Ocean Front on I-264E, to Independence Blvd). The hotel is about 20 minutes from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and the popular Virginia Beach boardwalk.
As I said earlier, we chose this hotel because of its central Town Center location which is hard to beat if you need to be in this area of Virginia Beach (there is also a Westin hotel, which is more expensive).
While the hotel doesn’t charge for parking, it is kind of a pain… There are a handful of parking spots reserved for Diamond members by the front doors. If those are full, you need to park on the street or in one of the free parking garages in Town Center.
Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center Lobby & Check-In
The hotel feels welcoming when you walk in. It has a similar vibe to the Pearland, TX Hilton Garden Inn I stayed at a few weeks ago. The hotel has a main entrance, along with side doors which require your key to enter.
I checked in on the Hilton app before arrival and noticed they upgraded me to a whirlpool room! That was a fun surprise, as Hilton Garden Inns usually don’t offer complimentary upgrades.
We stopped at the front desk to grab physical keys. The staff was friendly and also explained how the daily food and beverage credit works at their property. Hilton Gold and Diamond members get $10 per person per day for food and non-alcoholic beverages (up to two guests).
Whirlpool Room at Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center
I was excited that the hotel upgraded me to a Whirlpool Room, again was not expecting this at all since upgrades at Hilton Garden Inn are not a published benefit.
The room was solid overall, a bit dated but spacious and everything was in working order. The bed was comfortable, I liked the shower (great water pressure), and I couldn’t hear people in the hallway or other rooms.
Dining at Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center
As I mentioned earlier, the hotel offers a $10 daily dining credit for Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members. This is offered for up to two guests per day for the duration of your stay.
While I didn’t have a chance to order anything from the kitchen – I did snap photos of the buffet and breakfast menu (I loaded up on snacks at the front desk myself π ).
Amenities at Hilton Garden Inn VB Town Center
Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Town Center is a mid-tier hotel so they have just about everything you can think of for amenities. The hotel has an indoor pool, a decent fitness center, on-site coin laundry, a business center, and a convention center (first floor). Coffee is offered in the lobby throughout the day.
Final Thoughts
The Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Town Center is a solid, centrally located option in Virginia Beach. You can usually get a great cash deal when booking a room here (much cheaper than the Westin, and still very walkable). My room was comfortable but felt dated. I will consider this hotel again if I’m back in Virginia Beach, though. I thought it offered tremendous value!
