Review: Hotel Eastlund in Portland, OR [2024]
Hotel Eastlund is a boutique hotel near the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. It is part of the Best Western Premier Collection. I stayed here in May 2024 while I was in town for TravelCon.
I don’t usually stay at boutique-style properties, but thanks to the Delta Stays Amex Credit, I got $200 off my stay, which saved me quite a bit of cash! Since the hotel is steps away from the Oregon Convention Center, I figured it was worth a shot as the nearby Hyatt’s cash rates were expensive, and I wanted to save my Hyatt points for my extended stay at Lindner Hotel in Cologne.
Booking My Stay at Hotel Eastlund
I booked my room through the Delta Stays portal, powered by Expedia. I don’t usually recommend using a third-party site for bookings, but I had a $200 credit to burn, and I didn’t want to let that go to waste.

This was about $10 more per night than booking direct with Hotel Eastlund, so I recommend doing that if you are considering this hotel (unless you have a credit or other incentive).
Hotel Eastlund Location & Parking
Hotel Eastlund is located at 1021 NE Grand Ave in Portland, Oregon, kitty-corner from the Oregon Convention Center and across the street from Hyatt Regency.
It is 10 miles from Portland International Airport (about a 20-minute drive). If you feel adventurous walking across a bridge, Hotel Eastlund is also within walking distance of Downtown Portland.
Valet parking is available for $43 per night. Self-parking is available on the street.

Hotel Eastlund Lobby & Check-In
The hotel’s front desk is located directly past the entrance inside of the hotel. I had two separate reservations (to maximize my Delta Stays credits), and they were able to link them together once I arrived.
The lobby is inviting — with several areas to work and relax. The hotel’s gym and coffee shop are also located on this floor.

Hotel Eastlund King Room
If I had to choose one word to describe my room at Hotel Eastlund, it would be quirky! I could really feel the boutique vibe inside of the room — from the artwork to the furniture and fixtures.
I did think the faux-fur bedding was odd at first, but the bed was comfortable at night!
My room included a Keurig, a stocked mini-bar, and a tempting bottle of wine. Since I usually stay at hotels where I have status, I initially thought some of this was complimentary, but only the coffee and tea were. I only say this because I was about to dive in, and that would have been an expensive mistake!

Hotel Eastlund Dining Options
There are three restaurants at Hotel Eastlund. I tried two during my stay (I didn’t realize the third was part of the hotel until now).
Metropolitan Taven is a rooftop bar with impressive views of downtown Portland and the Willamette River. I stopped by here for Happy Hour one night and ordered their Yucatan Pork Tacos for $8 and a local beer on tap. Both were excellent! Happy Hour is from 3 pm to 6 pm and 9 pm to close daily.
Wild Bean Coffee Bar is on the first floor and open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It is a solid cafe that serves espresso drinks and offers excellent breakfast options. I stopped here each morning for a vanilla latte and ordered their avocado toast one day.
Amphora Wine Merchant is the third option at Hotel Eastlund, but I missed it during my stay. It can be accessed from the street and serves a small menu of snacks and sandwiches.

Hotel Eastlund Gym
Hotel Eastlund’s Gym is small and located on the first floor behind the front desk.
It has two treadmills, an elliptical machine, a bike, a dumbbell set, and a few yoga mats.
It was functional during my visit — I was the only person in there — but it would be tight if multiple people were working out at the same time.

Closing Thoughts
Hotel Eastlund is a great mix of affordable and stylish accommodations, making it an excellent choice if you’re attending an event at the Oregon Convention Center. I enjoyed my stay there! While the hotel doesn’t have many on-site amenities, there is a small gym and three restaurants. The area is very walkable, so you can easily explore the city. I usually stay at points hotels, but this was a great option, and I would consider it again if I had to be in this part of Portland.
