Review: Lufthansa Business Lounge in Berlin
Lufthansa operates two lounges at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. I stopped at their Business Lounge before my flight to Cario in June 2024, which I could access since I was flying Business Class on AirEgypt, a Star Alliance member!
Location & Hours
The Lufthansa Business Lounge is in Terminal 1 on the second floor, near Gate B 20. This is where Schengen flights depart, but you can still access it if you’re flying to an international / non-Schengen area (ensure you have plenty of time before your flight departs, though!).
It is open from 5:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. daily.
Entry Requirements
The following passengers are eligible to enter the Berlin Lufthansa Business Lounge before their flight:
- First Class and Business-Class passengers on a Lufthansa, SWISS, or Star Alliance flight
- Lufthansa passengers with Frequent Traveller, Senator, or HON Circle Member status
- Star Alliance Gold members
- American Express Platinum and Centurion Card Members when flying Lufthansa
Upon arrival, this lounge may be used only by first-class passengers, long-haul business class passengers (on a Lufthansa Group flight), and those with HON Circle and Senator elite status.
Food & Beverage
Lufthansa’s Business Lounge in Berlin offers an impressive selection of self-serve wine and beer. There is also an espresso machine and fountain Coca-Cola products. I spent plenty of time at Biergartens during my Berlin visit, so I opted for soda at the lounge!
I’ve heard great things about Lufthansa’s pretzels, so I was excited to try them in person, finally! They were on display in the center of the buffet area, along with fruit and other snacks.
They also had warm food at the end of the buffet. I was excited to see currywurst, as that was one thing I hadn’t had a chance to try in Germany!
I went with a pretzel, currywurst, and bread for a quick bite before my flight. The currywurst was tasty!
Space & Seating
There is plenty of seating at the Lufthansa Business Lounge in Berlin, each space offering a different vibe.
It was cool that they were streaming the Euro 2024 games (and decorated the lounge as well!).
Closing Thoughts
I enjoyed my time at the Lufthansa Business Lounge in Berlin. I recommend checking it out if you have a Schengen flight. There is plenty of seating, and they have a solid food and beverage selection. However, if you have a non-Schengen flight, it may not be worth the trek since it is on the other side of the airport. Be sure to be mindful of the time if you do decide to check it out!
