Review: Mövenpick Café Berlin (Priority Pass)
Mövenpick Café is one of the few “lounge” experiences at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. It is currently the only option for Priority Pass members. Movenpick Cafe is located on the airside at Terminal 1 near Gate 20. I had extra time before my Egyptair flight to Cairo, so I went to check it out even though it was in the Schengen part of the airport.
Mövenpick Café accepts Priority Pass and LoungeKey, with similar benefits and access requirements. I only have Priority Pass, so I’m focusing on that in this review!
Priority Pass Access Requirements
There are a few requirements to use your Priority Pass membership at Mövenpick Café:
- Priority Pass members can spend up to €23 if traveling solo or up to €46 if they bring a guest in a single transaction.
- The credit is valid for purchasing any menu item (food or drink).
- You can dine in or take away and sit elsewhere in the terminal.
- Members are responsible for any balance above the €23 or €46 credit. Any remaining credit cannot be used towards gratuity.
- Members can visit Mövenpick Café on arrival and departure with a same-day boarding pass.
Mövenpick Café accepts both physical and digital versions of Priority Pass.
Mövenpick Café Menu
Mövenpick Café sells a nice selection of warm and cold sandwiches, salads, snacks, coffee, beer, and wine.
I thought everything was reasonably priced – sandwiches start at about €8, for example. Your Priority Pass credit covers quite a bit!
I wasn’t super hungry, so I got a large bottle of water, a cup of fruit, and a turkey sandwich, which I enjoyed! I didn’t save a copy of my receipt (sorry!), but I remember that I didn’t use my entire €23 Priority Pass credit, so it is easy to stock up on goodies, especially if you have a guest.
Mövenpick Café Seating
There was ample seating during my visit, but depending on the number of flights departing, it could get busy. The nice thing is that since it isn’t a traditional lounge, you’re free to take your meal elsewhere.
If you can get a seat by the window, you can get some nice views of planes at their gates.
Closing Thoughts
Mövenpick Café is a nice option at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, especially considering the lack of traditional lounges there. The cafe is part of Priority Pass and offers members up to €23 per person (up to two people) towards any menu item – including beer and wine. Mövenpick Café has an impressive menu of warm and cold sandwiches, salads, and snacks. It is in the Schengen zone of the airport, which means you should arrive early if you’re taking a flight outside the European Union and want to check it out. I enjoyed my meal and will head back next time I fly out of Berlin!
